Dr. Tomas E. Stangel is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, 1991. Dr. Stangel pursued his post graduate studies in Neurology in 2001 from the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies. The Carrick Institute serves as the primary accredited post graduate program for the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (ACNB). The ACNB is the only Chiropractic specialty board currently certified by NOCA which accredits most medical specialty boards internationally. Dr. Stangel sat for and passed the examination for Diplomate status with the ACNB in 2005. He gained Fellowship status with the American College of Functional Neurology (ACFN) in 2009 and was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology with the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies in 2012 where he currently instructs various Functional Neurology courses. Dr. Stangel was presented with an award for Recognition of Excellence by the F.R. Carrick Research Institute in 2012. In order to stay current with the quickly changing information in Neurology, Dr. Stangel receives no less than 200 hours of continuing education per year.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany during his father’s service in the Red Cross, he was raised in Michigan and Wisconsin. He is an avid sports fan, animal lover, and guitarist. Dr. Stangel has practiced in Chattanooga, TN since 1998 and opened Stangel Functional Neurology, PLLC with his wife Erin in 2010.
